Throughout this blog, you will see how our family of 4 can survive below the poverty line, with an annual income of $29,950 ($2,495.83 monthly). We will have one working parent, one stay at home parent, and two twin babies aged around 5 months.
Basic Information
Ashtabula, Ohio is known for its deep history in relation to the Underground Railroad and to indigenous people. This history has impacted the town with various celebrations and rituals throughout the years.
The most popular celebration of Ashtabula is the annual Blessing of the Fleet Celebration. This city is also well known for the contributions it makes to the city's economy through shipping and manufacturing.

About Sociology Simulation
This project is a simulation designed to give people a realistic glimpse into the lives of individuals and families with limited financial resources. It demonstrates the difficult decisions they have to make every day. Every day challenges can include housing, food, transportation, healthcare, and unexpected expenses. By doing this project we learned how quickly trade-offs and tough choices can accumulate. This project has built an empathy within us as well as deepen understanding of systemic barriers and it sparked conversations about the real-life complexities that poverty entails.
